Real Life Prom Story: Seattle

Seattle prom real life prom

Kissley Leonor is one of the coolest people we know. She grew up in Seattle USA but was apparently more of a nerd at school. Unfortunately she couldn’t find any pictures from the prom itself but here’s a recent picture of her and her husband Sasson.

Kissley’s story:

I dated a ‘bad boy’ my senior year of high school in a suburb south of Seattle. J was very popular and I was average, and a little ‘different.’ I wasn’t big into the social scene and I went to prom because ‘everyone goes to prom.’

I didn’t want to get all glammed up so I chose to wear a conservative black dress topped with a white denim jacket and new white Puma trainers. Minimal make-up, hair down and simply curled at the ends. This ensemble probably sounded all sorts of fashion alarms but I didn’t care. I felt cool in my own way.

The venue was a maritime museum on the pier that today no longer exists. Amidst old photos of seamen and model ships, we danced to that ‘thong th thong thong thong’ song (this was the year 2000).

We took the classic pictures: J holding my hips, both of us angled slightly away from the camera, then another with just the girls, then another with a group of couples.

The fact that I remember this much ten years later I guess makes it a memorable experience. I actually emailed J to ask him if he remembered why I threw my purse at his face later that evening but he doesn’t
remember this and said he only remembers the good times. How sweet is that?

We’re looking for more people to blog about their prom experience this year, in the run up to it and about the night itself. Get great publicity and if you’re at event where Peasy Photos are doing your school prom photos, get free pictures! Let us know below if you want to write for us!
